How To Correctly Connect PVC Hose To Avoid Leaking

Jun 02, 2025 Leave a message

PVC hoses are widely used in household water supply, agricultural irrigation and other scenarios, but if they are not connected properly, they are prone to leakage. Mastering the correct connection method can ensure sealing and extend service life.
1. Choose the right connector
Make sure the connector size matches the inner diameter of the hose. If it is too large, it will crack the pipe wall, and if it is too small, it will cause a loose connection.
2. Cutting smoothly
Use special pipe shears or sharp knives to cut, and ensure that the cut is straight and burr-free. Inclined or uneven cuts will cause poor sealing.
3. Clean the connection parts
Wipe off dust and oil on the surface of the hose and connector to prevent impurities from affecting the sealing.
4. Apply lubricant
Apply a small amount of silicone oil or soapy water on the outer wall of the connector to facilitate the insertion of the hose and reduce friction damage.
5. Fully insert
Push the PVC hose vertically into the connector until it reaches the stop line. Make sure the insertion depth is sufficient to avoid loosening.
6. Fix with a pipe clamp
Install a stainless steel pipe clamp or retaining ring at the connection, and tighten it evenly with a screwdriver to prevent it from falling off due to water pressure shock.
7. Test the sealing performance
After passing water, check whether the joints are leaking. If there is water dripping, tighten them again or replace the joints.
Note: Avoid excessive bending of the joints. Long-term stress may cause cracking. Check the pipe clamps regularly to see if they are loose.
