Cleaning and maintenance of Wire Stretch Hose should be carried out according to usage scenarios and stain types to balance cleaning effects and hose protection, and avoid improper operations that damage the pipe wall and steel wire frame. Daily maintenance falls into three categories: routine simple cleaning, heavy stain removal and long-term storage maintenance, applicable to household, industrial, kitchen and other scenarios. Routine simple cleaning suits common floating dust, water stains and mild mud, and is the most frequently adopted maintenance method. After each use, flush the inner and outer pipe walls of the hose with normal-temperature tap water. Stretch and retract the hose evenly during flushing so that floating dust trapped in telescopic folds and steel wire gaps can be washed away. Afterwards, hang the hose fully stretched to drain internal residual water and surface moisture naturally. Residual water must be prevented, otherwise mold growth and dirt accumulation will occur. This convenient method is suitable for frequent daily maintenance.
For heavy contaminants such as kitchen grease, oily industrial dust and stubborn sticky residues, targeted cleaning methods are required. Prepare warm water, neutral detergent, soft brushes and sponge rags in advance. Cleaning agents including hydrochloric acid, caustic soda and bleach are strictly forbidden. Such chemicals will corrode the plastic pipe layer and steel wire coating of the hose, triggering aging cracking of the pipe wall and rusting of steel wires. Lay the hose flat and stretched, prepare a mild neutral cleaning solution and apply it evenly to stained areas. Let the stains soak for 5 to 10 minutes to soften grease sufficiently. Next, gently scrub crevice areas along the pipe texture, focusing on dead corners where steel wires connect with the pipe wall. Rinse thoroughly with clean water after scrubbing to eliminate all cleaning agent residues, then hang the hose for air-drying. Local wiping with wet wipes is acceptable for minor stains without overall cleaning.
In special cases where limescale or slight mold appears inside the hose, diluted white vinegar can be used for mild scale removal and bacteriostasis. Thorough flushing is required after three minutes of soaking to avoid residual corrosion. Special attention should be paid to maintenance taboos. Steel wool, utility knives and other sharp hard objects must not be used to polish the pipe wall, for they will scratch the surface protective film and cause cracking, air leakage or water seepage. High-temperature baking and sun drying are prohibited, as they accelerate aging and hardening of plastic materials and reduce telescopic flexibility. When the hose is out of service for a long time, clear all contaminants and drain water completely, then store it in a naturally stretched suspended state. Forcible folding and extrusion are forbidden to avoid permanent creases and deformation on the pipe wall. Place the hose in a dry, ventilated space free from oil corrosion, heat sources and chemical reagents. Conduct regular dust removal to maintain hose performance and maximize service life.
