Storage Methods for Pu Steel Wire Hose

The storage method of Pu Steel Wire Hose directly affects its toughness, service life and later performance. Improper storage will cause hardening, brittleness, creases, accelerated aging, mildew and stickiness of the hose, greatly shortening its usable period. Proper storage requires no complicated operations. Users only need to avoid adverse environments and incorrect placement, follow standard storage rules, so that the hose can be stored for a long time while retaining original performance. This method suits inventory stocking, idle storage and bulk warehousing.

The core requirement for storage environment is a dry, cool, ventilated and clean enclosed indoor space. This is the foundation to stabilize hose performance. Long-term outdoor storage is forbidden. Ultraviolet rays in sunlight continuously damage the molecular structure of polyurethane material, leading to rapid aging, yellowing and brittleness of the hose wall. The hose will easily crack and lose toughness when bent in later use. Meanwhile, keep it completely away from rainwater, accumulated water and humid corners. Long-term humid conditions make the hose wall absorb moisture, resulting in mildew, stickiness and dark oxidation, which impair texture and performance.

The storage area must be kept away from high-temperature heat sources and open flames to avoid high-temperature baking. High temperature softens PU material, causes elasticity loss and hose collapse, resulting in poor resilience. The hose may twist and deform and fail to recover in later use. Also keep it away from oil stains, glue, corrosive gas and chemical mist. Long-term contact with oil will swell and soften the hose wall. Corrosive mist gradually erodes the hose surface layer, accelerating aging and surface peeling and significantly reducing wear resistance.

Next comes the standard for placement and storage. For bulk storage or single idle hoses, flat placement on smooth ground or loose coiling is preferred. Coiling must be gentle without excessive tightening or extrusion. Violent folding and heavy stacking are prohibited. Do not stack heavy objects, hardware equipment or boards on the hose. Long-term heavy pressure will cause permanent deformation of the hose wall and steel wire frame, leaving fixed creases and depressions. The hose may bend with jamming and reduced permeability, or even become partially stiff and lose flexibility.

Protection measures should be taken during storage. Keep the hose away from sharp objects, metal edges and gravel debris to prevent scratches, cuts and punctures on the hose wall. Hidden damage will affect later use. Do not store it together with acidic, alkaline or corrosive materials to avoid cross-contamination and corrosion. Maintain ventilation in warehouses to prevent mildew and adhesion of hoses in sealed humid spaces.

For hoses in long-term stock or seasonal standby, carry out periodic inspection. Check the hose condition every one to two months for mildew, discoloration, deformation and adhesion. Adjust the storage environment promptly if problems are found. If dust accumulates slightly during storage, wipe it gently before storage without special maintenance. Never store the hose in twisted or knotted state, which may displace the steel wire frame and deform the hose body.

The core principle of proper storage is avoiding light, heat, moisture and corrosion, as well as heavy pressure and scratches. As long as the above basic requirements are followed, Pu Steel Wire Hose can be stored for a long time with stable performance. It remains flexible, wear-resistant and highly resilient when taken out for use. Storage will not compromise its performance, ensuring stable quality of stocked pipes.
